She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harold Emerson and Helena Short Emerson as well as her brother Nelson Emerson and her sisters Sidney Emerson Tebbutt and Marion Emerson Jablonski. She was the last member of her generation that, in addition to her siblings, included 17 first cousins. Jessie was born in Sutton Junction, Quebec on June 9th, 1924 at Highland Farm. She started her teaching career in the countryside but soon moved to Montreal. She progressed in her career to become an elementary school principal and also completed her Masters of Education at McGill University.
Jessie was an avid traveler and cyclist in Europe, Mexico and the United States. Along with oil painting, Jessie was exceptionally talented with needle work. She was a member of the Heirloom Quilters in Kingston and the Craft Group at St James Church.
Her Family would like to thank all the Staff at Arbour Heights for the care they gave to Jessie over the past two years; along with her companion Jenna who facilitated much pleasure especially with shopping trips to the Cataraqui Town Centre.
