Condolence: We offer our deepest condolences to all. We were saddened to hear this news. Sam and I remember Ted and Elinor very well from their Dill Street days in Bracebridge with fondness and their stellar efforts to start Spinning Reels, which is still going strong.

Hugs to all.

Condolence: Ted: Don and I were greatly saddened to learn of Elinor's death. Please know we are holding you in our thoughts and prayers. I always admired Elinor's feisty intelligence and creative spirit. Meeting the two of you through Spinning Reels was a lovely experience for me, and I always enjoyed our wide-ranging and interesting chats over coffee at The Bean. All the best. Sending hugs. Barb

Ted I was very sorry to hear of Elinor's death. I am sure you will feel very lonely in the weeks and months to come. On the other hand you will have plenty of children and grandchildren to keep you interested and busy

Condolence From: Bev Baines and Denis Magnusson
Condolence: With sympathy for your loss. We remember drives to Gan to the Playhouse with Elinor telling stories about the dog, about travel, about the B&B, about Newfoundland. She was a vivid raconteur.

Condolence From: Ian & Ruth Wilson
Condolence: Ruth and I send our heartfelt condolences to Ted and his and Elinor’s family.
Though we have been absent for some time, we share in the sense of loss. Elinor’s sharp wit, lively spirit and concern for people live in our memories. In reflecting on her several careers and on our acquaintance I am reminded of our time working together in Douglas Library, their wedding—simple in style but deeply meaningful to all who were there; the party bidding farewell as they embarked on their joint adventure in St John’s and, later, their delightful hospitality in their B&B in Sackville. I was especially pleased to see Ted and Elinor at Convocation in 2009. Good times, meals together and great conversation about books, libraries and archives.
We feel privileged in having known Elinor as colleague and as a friend. She is missed.
