KOVAL (Thayer) Jane, 1929-2017
Jane died suddenly but peacefully of heart disease at the Kingston General Hospital. Born in London Ontario, predeceased by her parents Lulu and Roy Thayer, her brothers, Edgar, Donald and David. Predeceased by her son David (Joanne), and her ex-husband Andrew (2016). Much missed by her children Donald (Denise Girard), Anne (Owen Corrigan) and Susan. Beloved Nana of Sarah, Holly, Jesse and Sam, and her step-grandchildren Carter and Jacob. An affectionate aunt to her nieces and nephews, Glen, Teri, Graham, Sandy, Susan, Peter, Janie, Diane, Gillian, Cerys and to her great-nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her adoring cat Sarah.
Jane will be remembered for her lively mind, her elegance, and great sense of humour. She was funny and very lucid to her last day. She lived her life with beauty, grace and acts of kindness. Her warmth and keen intelligence were immediately felt. She will be remembered in Kingston for her years working at Kingston Tennis World and for her 16 years as a ward clerk at the Kingston General Hospital. Jane loved animals and shared her life with beloved cats, dogs and horses. Her enthusiasm for tennis, riding and her excellence as a bridge player will be long remembered. She leaves behind many good friends and will be much missed.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and friends at the Royale. Also, many thanks to the staff at the Kingston General Hospital for her care.
A memorial service will take place this Sunday 26th February, 1-4pm at Royale Place Retirement Home, Club Royale (lower floor), 2485 Princess St., Kingston. No flowers please. Donations can be made in her memory to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation or CNIB.
