Obituary for Arthur "Bud" Brown

Died peacefully at KGH in Kingston after a series of strokes. He was born in Toronto and lived most of his life in Gananoque. He studied engineering at Queen’s University and worked all his life at Thomson Rivet Co. He told his granddaughters he walked uphill both ways to work every day. He was a unique and talented artist working in pen and ink sketches, caricatures, acrylics, oils, and wood carving. He formed life lasting friendships, many of them fellow “river rats” like himself.
Bud married Jeanne Provost in 1962 and they raised their family together for 54 years in the same house. Jeanne survives him along with sons Jim (Judy) and Carter (Fernando) and daughter, Anne. He was predeceased by son, Adam (Vivian), brother Bill (Carolyn) and parents, Harold and Ethel Brown. He is survived by his sister, Patsy Ann (Dieter) and all his Provost inlaws: Leo (Pat), Annette, Victor (Mary Jane), Ruth (David), Shirley (Gary), and Mary. He was adored by grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matthew), Sarah (Jon), Emily, Merideth, Olivia, Dylan, Lucas, Zachary, Samantha, MacKenzie, Emma, and Olivia and great grandchildren, Brandon, Maya, and Ava.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Gananoque Inn, 550 Stone St S in Gan on Sunday, Dec 04 at 3:00 p.m. Please come and share you memories with the family.
