Obituary for Glenn Nelson Wagar

WAGAR Glenn Nelson
Of Napanee a 42 year employee of Gibbard Furniture Shops , Wall of Fame recipient passed way peacefully at L&A County General Hospital . He has now joined his late wife and sports partner of fifty years, Mary Ethel ( Calberry ). Predeceased by son David. Survived by son Randy ( Wende) Napanee, grandson Brent ( Sheri ) London granddaughter Vanessa , Ottawa, great granddaughter Meredith, Megan, Braeden, Napanee and Richmond family. Nieces and nephews. Daughter-in-law Betty, Amherstview. Missed by good friend Janie Alkenbrack, Napanee. Glenn's wishes were cremation by Simpler Times, Kingston with a Celebration of Life at his second home The Napanee Golf and Country Club, at a later date His sports career started at the age of 19 with softball lasting for 23 years Golf from 1946 to 2008 and curling 1959 to 1961, He learned to slalom ski at the age of 45 at Beaver Lake and almost caught the Big One there. At the age of 68 he started 10 pin bowling and won two mixed league championships. He shot his age of 73 in golf on July 1, 1999 and second hole in one at age of 82. His achievements in sports awarded him a place on The wall of Fame at the Napanee Arena and Napanee Golf and Country Club .
