Dr. Rusmir Tanovic

Passed away at home in his 69th year on Wednesday, April 15. Rusmir, a native of Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, was a professor at Royal Military College, Kingston, where he took true joy in sharing his knowledge with his many students. Always with a twinkle in his eye, Rusmir loved regaling family and friends with colourful stories. He will be in our hearts forever.

Son of the late Sacir and Zulka Tanovic. Beloved husband and best friend of 44 years to Gorjana (nee Danilovic). Adored father and father-in-law to Damir Tanovic and Alexis Frankel. Loving brother (and brother-in-law) to Senad Tanovic and Kaca Celan and the late Kemal Tanovic, the late Emira (nee Tanovic) and Halid Muhasilovic, and Borka Danilovic. Cherished uncle of Djido, Lejla, Tajna and Ivana. Much loved cousin to Ann (nee Tanovich) and Sid Penstone, Julia (nee Tanovich) and Louis King, Mary (nee Tanovich) and John Shirley, Elizabeth (nee Tanovich) and Ed Rivera.
In keeping with Rusmir's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service.Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society 496 Days Road Kingston,Ontario K7M 5R4 would be appreciated by the family.
