Smith, Alison Frances - Alison passed away peacefully at St.Mary's of the Lake Hospital on Wednesday June 18th. in her 87th year. She was born on Nottingham, England, the youngest daughter of Alice and James Godsmark and was predeceased by sisters Lois and Bernice and her husband of 59 years,Paddy. After a career as a veterinary technical officer and school teacher,Alison moved to Kingston in 1989 and flourished in retirement. She became actively involved in conservation,literacy,horticulture,painting and social groups, and avidly enjoyed gardening,the company of friends and travel. Always ready with a smile,always modest,thoughtful and considerate of others,she will be dearly missed by son Simon and her many friends. Sincere thanks are due to carers and healthcare professionals who attended her recently. In keeping with Alison's wishes , cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Senior Staff Mess, Royal Military College of Canada at 2 pm on urday July 5th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to sandy pines Wildlife Centre 8749 County Road 2 Napanee,Ontario K7R 3L1 in her name would be appreciated.
