Obituary for Phyliss Barbara Tomlin (nee Muller)

TOMLIN, Phyliss Barbara (nee Muller)

On March 29, 2023 in her 92nd year, peacefully and surrounded by family, our mom and angel on earth, Phyliss Barbara Tomlin (nee Muller) passed away.
Born in the Village of Barriefield, on May 20, 1931, she loved growing up in the country, which was probably where her love of animals began.
After moving to Kingston, with her love for people and the “gift of the gab”, she began her very successful and long career as a hairstylist/beautician.
She had a generous heart and spirit, making many friends over the years, and always greeting everyone with her sweet smile. When spring and summer arrived, she could be found tending to her beautiful garden, her pride and joy, and visiting with the family of cardinals. She was an avid hockey fan and spent many hours cheering on her favourite team the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Although she wasn't fond of surprises, she certainly didn't mind winning the jackpot during a visit to the casino.
A devoted mother, first and foremost, she especially loved her role as nana.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Marilyn Mazzeo (Frank), Carolyn Howes (Brian), John, Michael (Sandra McKenna) and her grandchildren Johnny (Julissa), Cory Mazzeo, Cody, Jessica Howes, Jordan, Bryanna, Callum Tomlin and three great-granddaughters Melina, Amelia and Giovanna Mazzeo, niece and dear friend Jean MacFarland, and her little fur babies Cricket and Chance. Predeceased by daughter Katherine Nelson and husband Stanley Francis.
We wish to thank the staff at the KGH for their care and comfort.
Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will take place at a future date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kingston Humane Society 1 Binnington Court, Kingston, Ontario K7M 8M9.
