Obituary for Kenneth William Ash

ASH, Kenneth William
June 19, 1938 - March 20, 2023

It is with sadness and heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden death of Kenneth William Ash of Kingston, Ontario, who passed away on March 20, 2023, at the age of 84. Predeceased by his mother Evelyn, his father Cecil, his sister Moira, and his brother Clarence.
Ken was born and raised in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia. Ken is no doubt devastated to leave behind his loving wife of 60 years, Mary, whom he loved and treasured for his entire life. Their marriage is an inspiration to all that know them. He was always the proud and revered father of Bryan Ash (Dawn), Tina Ash (Chantal) and Natalie Garrah (Al). He was a devoted Papa who cherished his grandchildren: Mackenzie, Alex, Halley, Carter and Sydney. In Ken’s blue eyes, the only joy greater than renovating was watching his grandchildren play sports or perform; he was their greatest fan!
He is the cherished brother of Enos (Sydney Mines), best friend to Brinton Johnson and a special Papa to the Johnson family. The trio of Brinton, Mary and Ken have been three peas in a pod since childhood. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Donna, Brinton (Diane), Bryan (Pauline), Francine (Ernie), Marlene (Rod) and Nancy (Phillippe).
Ken retired from a long career at Dupont and then continued a secondary career renovating homes up until his passing. The pride of his excellent craftsmanship can be found in many Kingston homes, especially the homes of his family.
Ken will be lovingly remembered for his generosity and humour by his family and friends.
The family is grateful for the exceptional and kind care provided by the KGH ICU team and ER team.
Donations may be offered to the Ontario Cerebral Palsy Foundation Suite #316-4211 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario M2P 2A9 in honour of Ken’s cherished brother.
