Obituary for Ila May Montgomery
MONTGOMERY, Ila May
Passed away peacefully days short of her 88th birthday after a battle with dementia. Beloved wife of Gerry for over 60 years prior to his passing in 2012. A great mother to Don (Marlene), Chuck (Marg) and Debbie (Howie). Dear grandmother to Kristine Garster (Marty), Steve (Janet), Mike (Kerry), Lauren (Jordan), Chris and Chelsea. Loving great-grandmother to Riley, Owen, Sophie, Kelsey, Mitchell, Hudson, Addie, Everett and Rowan. Mom was a homemaker her entire life and never met a vacuum she didn’t like. Later in life she also loved her gardening and feeding the birds. In keeping with Ila’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at the Bayshore Care Centre as well the great caregivers at the Kingston General Hospital during her final days for taking such good care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Kingston, Unit#4-400 Elliott Avenue, Kingston, Ontario K7K 6M9 would be appreciated by the family.
