Obituary for Phyllis Mary Jane Pelow
PELOW, Phyllis Mary Jane (nee Hughes)
Suddenly on Thursday June 30, 2022 at Kingston General Hospital, at the age of 82. Loving mother of Chris (Susan) and Ted (Karen). Cherished by her grandchildren Tyler (Cynthia), Jessica (Thomas), Joseph (Tara), Staci (Joe), Casey and great-grandchildren Austin and Wesley (Tyler) and Orson and Arrietty (Staci) and her canine companion Spike. Predeceased by her brother Ted and sister Pat. Over the years, Phyllis worked at Flindalls Cleaners as their drapery specialist, J&P Coats running thread machinery and eventually retiring from RMC as part of their cleaning staff. She enjoyed knitting hats and mittens for her great-grandchildren, as well as donating them to needy children, and knitting bird nests for Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre. Her favorite pastime was reading, TV and occasionally, a trip to the casino. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to her neighbours and friends at the apartment complex where she lived for 34 years. A special thanks to Debbie Hogan (niece), Lori Ann Barcier and Cassie (neighbours) for their help and friendship during Mom’s golden years. She will be dearly missed by her family, relatives and many friends. There will be a brief interment for Phyllis on Friday July 15th at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kingston at 11:00am . Anyone that knew her is welcome to come and say goodbye.
