Obituary for Glenyth Signe (Glennie) Green

GREEN, Glenyth Signe (Glennie)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Glenyth Signe Green, on March 22, 2022, peacefully at home, from cancer. She was in her 72nd year and was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, to Rev Dr. Robert B Green, and his wife Signe (Mills) Green, on April 23, 1950. Glenyth is survived by her loving husband, Michael Clayton, her beloved children Jonathan Shaw, Amanda Shaw (Hedrus) loving stepson Shaun Clayton, and her grandchildren Christian and Nicholas Shaw, Alex Antonin, and Cole and Rhys Clayton. Also survived by her two sisters, Judith Ann Wells, and Daphne Choquette (Herb); nephews Greg Woodford Wells, (Nina) and Rob Wells (Shoba), Peter Young and niece, Dr. Ingrid Young (Donna). Remembered fondly by her best friend for 40 Years, Judy Wheeler. Predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law Rev. Dr. Bill Wells. Glennie was employed at Queens University, Arts and Science for over 35 years until she retired. During this time, she made many friends that she cherished as well as several friends they made on many winter trips to Mexico. Thank you to Dr. Anne Meaghen Hagarty, Nurse Hannah, and PSW Sam, for the kind and compassionate care during her last 6 months at home. Special thanks to Dr. Weiss. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations if desired may be made to the Kingston Humane Society 1 Binnington Court, Kingston, Ontario K7M 8M9 as Glennie loved animals or your charity of choice.
