Obituary for Lieselotte Cura

CURA, Lieselotte

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lieselotte Cura, on February 23, 2022 at 89 years of age. Lieselotte, often known as Lisa, lived a full and active life. She was born in Nuremburg, Germany, and immigrated to Kingston, Ontario where she resided for the last 70 years.

Lisa was an active member of the senior community, enjoyed knitting and produced beautiful pieces for the gift shop, family and friends. Lisa loved reading, line dancing, swimming, and took great pride in gardening.

Lisa was a very talented, creative, and accomplished lady. She opened her own hair salon in 1967 and was known for her creative and beautiful hairstyles, some of which won her outstanding achievement awards and industry recognition.

Lisa was a long-standing member of the local choir and enjoyed singing in concerts with her fellow choristers. She had a real passion for travel, and along with exploring much of Europe, Canada, the USA, and Australia, she always took the time to visit her family wherever they resided.

Lisa was a wonderful cook/baker and kind hostess. She was always making hearty meals and delicious baked goods. Lisa was devoted to her family and friends, always putting them first.

Lieselotte leaves behind her only child, her daughter Denise, and her “son” Joe, her two granddaughters Stephanie (Luca) and Beverley, and her two great granddaughters Aurora and Adriana. She will truly be missed immeasurably; however we know her spirit and teachings will live on through her family. In keeping with her wishes, a small private ceremony will be held in the summer.
