VANKOUGHNETT, Joe (Alfred)
Passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2021 with his family by his side. Joe was a loving partner to Debra MacComish, father to Corinna (Dean) Smith, and stepfather to Brenda and Barry. He was Poppa to Carter and Hailey Smith, step Poppa to Lindsay, Chad, JD, Amanda, Grace, and Alex. Great Poppa to Wyatt, Corbin, Vaughn, and Bentley. Joe leaves behind his siblings Melbourne (Pauline), Manly (Kay), Sheldon (Vicky), Elizabeth, Darlene (Len) and Patsy, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe loved to fish, hunt, and play horseshoes. He always enjoyed his time with family and his fishing buddies. Fishing derbies will never be the same without Joe. Too often you would find Joe working or helping others with projects, but he was never too busy to lend a hand or have a chuckle. Joe is predeceased by his wife Anne, his parents Cecil and Lillian Vankoughnett, brothers, Ronald, Kenneth, Thomas, his sister Roxanne and stepdaughter Barb Young. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 and Joe’s request, only immediate family will be permitted at the graveside service. Should you choose, donations to your favorite charity in honour of Joe would be appreciated by the family.
