Obituary for James (Jim) Thompson Peters

PETERS, James (Jim) Thompson

It is with mixed emotions that we announce that James (Jim) Thompson Peters passed away at Providence Care Hospital on March 31, 2021
Jim is now in a place where his mind is once again sharp and he can fully enjoy his surroundings. Anyone who truly knows Jim will know that he is probably bringing a smile to someone’s face even now.
Jim was born on March 25, 1938, in Magog Quebec, to Bessie Thompson and Norman Peters.
Jim was a wonderful husband, with a deep faith and will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Noreen. Jim was a man of his word. When we married, he promised me I would never be bored. I am sure it was not what he meant when he said those words and certainly not what I expected when I heard them but we travelled the Dementia journey together with many ups and downs laughter and tears. Thank you, Jim
Jim was the father of 5 Children Laura Reinstra (Dave), Cliff Peters (Annette), Dan Peters (Tanis), Karen Lamport (Greg) and Kathy Seymour (Mark)
Jim was the grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 8. He is predeceased by his sister Joann Lupton and grandson Braden Peters.
Jim was a very kind and friendly man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone needing him.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

“It is quite clear that between love and understanding there is a very close link...He who loves understands, and he who understands loves. One who feels understood feels loved, and one who feels loved feels sure of being understood.”
