SMITH, James Edward (Jim)
Passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021, with family by his side in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Beer) for 46 years. Cherished father to Abby (Michael), Connie (Al) and Brad (Tracey). Proud Grandpa of Sheena, Jamie, Zak, Breanne, Courtney and Kyle. Beloved son-in-law to Joan and Colonel Jack Beer (predeceased) and brother-in-law to Jane Knight. Jim’s nieces and nephews hold a special spot in his heart. He will be missed by many friends and “coffee buddies”. Jim will now be reunited with his siblings Claire, Ab and Moe. In keeping with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. The family would like to extend a thank you to the KGH staff on Connell 10 for the care that was given to Jim. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Jim’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society 496 Days Road, Kingston, Ontario K7M 5R4, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Suite#201-1599 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario L5G 4S1 or Canadian Blood Services 1800 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K1G 4J5 would be appreciated by the family.
