Obituary for Margaret Boyd McCurdie
MCCURDIE, Margaret Boyd (nee Grassom)
February 15, 1932 – January 10, 2021
Passed away peacefully at Helen Henderson Care Centre in her 88th year. Loving wife to the late Harry (2011). She will be sadly missed by sons Robert, Ronald and Gary. Grandmother to Bobbi (Jason) and Shawn (Jen). Adoring great grandmother to Nathan and Quinn McCurdie. Margaret was born in Grangemouth, Scotland. Predeceased by her parents Gardner and Margaret Grassom of Scotland, sister Myra and brother Gardner Grassom. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Heather Grassom also many cousins, nieces and nephews in Scotland and England and Heather McCurdy of Toronto. Margaret was a proud member of “The Women's Land Army” during WWII. In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Helen Henderson Care Centre for their care and compassion shown to Margaret. Memorial donations to the Kingston Humane Society 1 Binnington Court, Kingston, Ontario K7M 8M9 or Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre 8749 County Road 2, Napanee, Ontario K7R 3L1 would be appreciated by the family.
