Obituary for Arnold Kenneth Raymond, Retired MTO

RAYMOND, Arnold Kenneth
Retired-MTO
1939 – 2020

Arn died peacefully after a short illness, at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Friday, November 20, 2020. He is survived by Edie, his wife of 54 years, sons Jason (Tannis) and Andrew, and grandson Nathan. Also his brothers Clair (Dawn), Roy (Diane), and sister Ruth Markell (Darwin). Arn began his 31 year career with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in 1962 in the Ottawa District Office. Through the years he progressed up the ranks to the position of project supervisor. In 1978 he became a quality assurance officer and his family moved from Rockland to Kingston. In 1982 he moved on to the position of Municipal Supervisor until his retirement in 1993. In subsequent years he was employed by several engineering consulting firms, most recently with Jewel Engineering as a contract administrator. He will be remembered as a mentor to those entering the engineering field. Arn derived great satisfaction from his work and valued the friendship of his colleagues. He also enjoyed many wonderful trips with Edie over the years to various parts of the world. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no funeral or visitation. The family would like to thank the paramedics, nurses and doctors for the care provided, and the countless friends and neighbours for their love and support during this trying time. If desired, a donation to Diabetes Canada , or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.
