I grew up at Dianne’s house, and was quickly made part of the family by all. Uncle Ben as we all called him, was always very involved
and present with us kids. He always bought us treats at the store, sat and played Mario Bros. even though it was not his favorite thing to do. I fell off my bike one time, my mom was at work, it was Uncle Ben to the rescue. He was just the type of guy that we hoped to find when we grew up. I wish I had been in Ben’s life more as an adult, but I lived away so I did not get to see him.
I know how loved he was by all, and how missed he is by all now, I also know he is with God and many loved ones in heaven. Shelley would of had that beautiful smile on her face, arms opened wide just waiting for her Uncle Ben’s arrival, that is comforting.
I hope I can be at his mass, if I’m not then I’m sending all of you my love, and prayers.
Thanks Uncle Ben for teaching me as a kid that great, respectful, and kind men exist in this world. You will always be remembered and missed by me.
