Obituary for Elizabeth (Betty) Smeaton
SMEATON, Elizabeth,
Elizabeth (Betty) Smeaton (Graham) in her 93rd year passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, with her daughters by her side. Betty lived many years with cancer and fought courageously, even in the last days of her life. Betty was married to Don Smeaton (predeceased) for over 70 years and spent most of her married life in Kingston living close to her three brothers, Chuck (predeceased), Cliff (predeceased) Irv and sister-in-laws Marilyn, Alice and Joyce. Betty was a loving mother to Susan Foster (Steve predeceased) and Laura Austin (Bob), grandmother of Krista Foster (Dan), Laurel Forbes (Dave) and Kyle Austin (Megan), step-grandmother of Anna and Jessie and great grandmother of Noah, Caiden, Lincoln, Hudson, Logan, Emma and Clara. Mom’s strong spirit and love of family will be greatly missed by the Graham clan, the Smeaton and Clark family. Thanks to the staff and residents at Rosewood Retirement Home where Mom spent the last 2 years of her life. A special thanks to the nurses and personal support workers at Rosewood that provided exceptional care and kindness to Mom and became our extended family. Thanks also to the palliative care team at KGH and the Care Coordinator with the South East Local Integration Network. A celebration of life is to be announced at a later date.
