MOORE, William (Bill)

It is with broken yet thankful hearts we announce that William (Bill) Moore, beloved son, father, husband, friend, died peacefully in Belleville General Hospital on Monday, November 18, 2019. Bill remained Bill throughout his 12 years of living with dementia; a man of deep faith, loving, gentle, smiling, and always engaged with others to the limits of his capacity. He was a delight in our lives and will be sorely missed by his mother, Joyce, his soulmate, Lynda, his children, Sarah and Ryan, their partners, Saneel and Erin, his first-love, Wendy, and family and friends worldwide. Bill's baby grandson, Soren William, will learn from many all the great stories of the Grandad he will never come to know. Bill has been welcomed home by his heavenly father, his earthly father, Stew, and his little grandson, Aarav. Let the praise and the party begin. A service of thanksgiving will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Kingston on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 2 p.m. Please do not send flowers. To honour Bill, feed someone who is hungry, visit someone who is lonely, walk alongside someone who is struggling, be grace and blessing in someone else's life, as Bill always was. Thanks to the many friends and the amazing staff of the BSTU in BGH, who have been for us all these things and more over this past six months. So that others too can know the blessing of amazing support, donations are also welcome to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation (targeted to the BSTU), the Alzheimer's Society, Kingston, or St. James Anglican Church.

Such a fine, gentle man and a very thorough lawyer. It's true that your beloved Bill is with our Heavenly Father now. There is great comfort in knowing that, but my heart is heavy for the grief you will endure, missing your beautiful man's presence each and every day. May your Faith, love of Bill and love of each other comfort and carry you through. Sending so much love … Arlene Seale

Arlene, Thanks for insights that I know come from the heart and your own sad experience of having walked this path before me. Roger and Bill both left a big hole. Yesterday, my son-in-law read about faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. You and I have been blessed to know all three in our lives but love in abundance. For sure, we are blessed even in the midst of our sadness and sorrow .

In my mind, Pleasant Point and Bill will always go hand in hand. Ever since I was young, there was Bill. For many years I just took his presence for granted. The last couple of decades have been wonderful times of getting to know the wonderful man who Bill was. Even as dementia took its grip that smile and twinkle in the eye could fill a room. He will be missed on earth, but will now be filling the heavens with that joy. My deepest condolences to Lynda, Joyce, Sarah and Saneel (and their bundle of joy), and Ryan and Erin.

So many have made comments about his wonderful smile and weird humour, Kristen and the photos we displayed yesterday was evidence after evidence of his beautiful smile and his beautiful spirit. I was so touched that your mum made the long trip from Peterborough to celebrate with us, what a gift. Bill and I used to enjoy so much popping up Rose Street to visit with your mum and Dad and be regaled with stories of wartime adventures for your dad and your mum's patient years of wooing him till he finally accepted the inevitable! We laughed yesterday as we recalled those stories and the two wonderful men we loved and laughed with. They have gone ahead of us and in that twinkling of Bill's eye we shall be with them. :-)
