Obituary for Marionrose "Rosie" Savage
SAVAGE, Marionrose “Rosie” (nee Verwey)
Passed away peacefully in her 80th year surrounded by her family on May 7, 2019. Marion of Kingston, Ontario was the beloved wife of the late Charles Savage and loving daughter of the late Annette and Jacob Verwey; sister to Neil and Lynn and aunt to Joanne (Roger) and Megan (John). Marion was a KGH Graduate Nurse Class of '59, past president and was an active member of the KGH Nursing Alumnae right to the end. She is survived by her son, Charles (Nicole); daughters, Carolyn, Suzanne, and Nealanne (David); grandchildren; Anton (Jasmine), Alex (Erin), Sara (Josh), Brock, Graydon, Gabriel and Evelyn and known as GG to Caleb, Carly, Esme, Nathan and Xzavier. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Marion's name to the University Hospitals Foundation KGH Nurses Alumnae Endowment Fund, 55 Rideau Street, Suite #4 Kingston, Ontario K7K 2Z8. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held June 8 at her home. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the KGH doctors and nurses for their care and kindness. Sadly Rosie will miss attending her 60th nurses’ reunion however she will be just in time for her 60th wedding anniversary with Charlie.
