Obituary for William "Bill" Giguere
GIGUERE, William “Bill”
Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, after a brave journey with cancer on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 77.
Beloved Husband and best friend for 53 years of Raili Giguere. Much loved father of Chris Giguere (Jenny Corlett) and Andrew Giguere (Cynthia Wilson Giguere - deceased). Will be missed by grandsons, Ronan and Dashiell.
Survived by brothers Charles (Bernadette), John (Elaine - deceased) and Mike (Flo). Will be remembered by his nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William “Bill” can be made to the University Hospital Kingston Foundation 55 Rideau Street , Suite #4 Kingston, Ontario K7K 2Z8 , KGH Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario. During his working career, Bill reinvented himself many times. He was employed as salesman for many years at a local radio station, a partner in a small business, a teacher at St. Lawrence College, sat as a member on the Board of Referees, an Investment Advisor and in retirement worked as Chief Proctor at Queen’s University. He was a past President of the Chamber of Commerce, an active member for many years with the local provincial PC party and in the past was an active participant in the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs.
Bill enjoyed his retirement while his health was good and travelled with Raili on many cruises and vacations. He loved the game of golf, which he continued to play until this past summer and was enthusiastic about perfecting his skills.
