During his working career, Bill reinvented himself many times. He was employed as salesman for many years at a local radio station, a partner in a small business, a teacher at St. Lawrence College, sat as a member on the Board of Referees, an Investment Advisor and in retirement worked as Chief Proctor at Queen’s University. He was a past President of the Chamber of Commerce, an active member for many years with the local provincial PC party and in the past was an active participant in the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs.
Bill enjoyed his retirement while his health was good and travelled with Raili on many cruises and vacations. He loved the game of golf, which he continued to play until this past summer and was enthusiastic about perfecting his skills.

Dear Raili, Chris and Andrew:

I was saddened to read of Bill's passing today. I have many fond and funny memories of Bill when we worked together at CKLC/CFLY-FM, beginning in 1978. I was a true green horn in the business and Bill took me under his wing and spent many patient hours teaching me the radio sales business. He was a gentle man with a great aptitude to listen. We had many laughs at that job over the years... some of them intentional. He'll know what I mean. Keep this good man's fond and fun memories close to you, as I hope they can ease the pain of loss at this time.

Most sincerely,
Bryan Mercer
