LAUGHREN, Stephen Warren
MAY 28, 1962 – JANUARY 3, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Laughren in Kingston, Ontario on January 3, 2019 at the age of 56. Stephen is the beloved son of Wyman and Theresa Laughren (nee Fitzpatrick) of Pembroke, Ontario. He is survived by his brother Leslie and his sisters Patricia and Gail. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Theresa, in 1987.
Steve was born on May 28, 1962 in Pembroke, Ontario. He was one of the first babies to survive a new and very specialized heart surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Steve resided in Kingston for most of his adult life, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Ontario Historical Society, and participated in many volunteer activities. He was a rated chess player, enjoyed painting, reading, and playing music. He had an inquisitive mind and many interests.
The family would like to thank the nurses and physicians at the Intensive Care Unit at the Kingston General Hospital for their compassionate care of Stephen. Interment will be at St. Columba’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Pembroke, Ontario in the spring of 2019.
