A good ol Portsmouth boy, Rod was a renowned rink rat, pitcher, golfer, goalie, comedian, friend and father. He brought a smile to many people’s faces and touched the lives of many. He only knew 5 jokes, but they were delivered in a way that only Roddy could.
Survived by mother Audrey (nee Guthrie), wife Shelley Bearss, Dad to Craig, Kirk, Brittiney (Tim Poffley) and their daughter Macee. Will also be missed by beloved 4 legged friend, Thena. Brother to Rose (Les Meers), Glen (Lori), Kim Storring, Robb, Gordie (Cathy), Tory, and Shaun (Christine).Son in law to Marlene, brother in law to Jeff and Donna Wade and Michelle and Mark Miatello. Predeceased by siblings Marlene, John and Archie. Uncle to Tammy Raymond, Tom Meers and many loved nieces and nephews. Rod was also a great friend to most of the city of Kingston. There will be a gathering of friends and family at Royal Kingston Curling Club Saturday, March 24th at 3pm. Thank you to all that attended Rod’s appreciation night. Rods family was touched by the incredible turn out. A very special thanks to the hospital staff on Kidd 9 for their compassionate care during Rod’s battle.
