KIRK, Flora Ellen,
Her sunrise was November 15, 1916 and she slipped quietly with dignity into the sunset on October 19, 2017 (28 days from her 101st birthday) with family at her side. Mom was the epitome of warmth, generosity and love. She lived her life with joy and humour and always had a witty, quick comeback when talking with family. She was a good Mom and taught us what unconditional love was, manners, right from wrong, and how to spell. Mom said hard work will never kill you and she was a good example. This is how we will remember her. Loving mother of daughters Lorraine, Marjorie(Marge) (Dwayne), Iola (Chris) and son Don (Judi). Devoted grandmother of Michael B. (Tracey), Cathy (Dave), Bob (Sharon), Melinda, Michael I (Becky), Jennifer (Troy), Shannon (Derek), Tamara (Dorset), Don (Melissa) and Karla (Jimmy). Great grandchildren Jessica, the late Christine, Michelle, Travis, Kailyn (Damien), Patricia, Alex, Diana, Christina, Sonnet. Eli, Jackson, Abigail, Oliver, Elliot and numerous nieces and nephews. We are grateful to Carol, Ross and Cathy Wales for their visits, phone calls and letters. Thank you to St. Bartholomew's United Church Brampton for the many cards and prayers. Our heartfelt thanks to Iola and Chris Ingersoll where Mom lived the last 8 years. Their care was beyond reproach. Our deepest thanks to Dr. Sosnowski for his kind and compassionate care and to Karen, Mom's nurse who visited her regulrly. We are grateful to the amazing staff of South East Local Health Integration Network, St. Elizabeths, The Smile Program and SOS Respite. According to her wishes cremation has taken place entrusted to Simpler Times. A memorial service will be held in the Newburgh Community Hall, 2 Factory Street, Newburgh, Ontario, November 18, 2017 at 1 pm followed by visitation and refreshments.
