Obituary for Rose Marie Gowlett

Gowlett, Rose Marie (nee Martin)
September 16, 1936 ~ March 10, 2016

Rose passed away peacefully with her husband at her side at Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Beloved wife of William Earle Gowlett, loving and devoted mother to Susan Lee Strauss and Robert Todd Gowlett and was a thoughtful and caring grandmother to five grandchildren. Rose was born and raised on a rural Manitoba farm where her upbringing imparted strong values and wholesome morals. Rose graduated as a registered nurse in the class of 1957B from Brandon General Hospital, Manitoba and practiced nursing at different locations throughout Canada and Zweibruken, Germany. Rose’s personality reflected her creative artistic nature. While in Germany, she took oil painting lessons and became an accomplished artist. She had a passion for dogs, decorating, shopping and cooking. Her greatest joy was creating a beautiful home and loving environment for her husband and children. Everyone who knew Rose fondly remembers her friendly kind demeanor and good humor. She will be greatly missed. Rose wished to be cremated and a private interment will take place at a later date. In memory of Rose, donations to the Canadian Arthritis Society 393 University Avenue Suite 1700, Toronto, Ontario M5G 1E6 or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
