Obituary for James Maxwell Lockwood

April 26,1944-November 22,2010

It is with great heartache that the family announce the sudden passing of Jim Lockwood on November 22,2010 peacefully at home in Kingston. born in Belleville April 26, 1944,predeacsed by his mother Beatrice Lockwood ( Belch) of Belleville and Charles Lockwood of Gananoque. He leaves behind a loving wife Florence Lockwood ( Croft) , cherished father of Kim Dobney ( Lockwood) he was her best support and fixer of anything.Best grampy to sumyy Dobney pictured with her granpy. Sadly missed by step-mom Joan Lockwood and Jim's sisters Heather Hunt ( Tracy) and Barbara Copper ( Terry ). Jim started his working career with his uncle Bill Belch of W. Belch and sons Construction. In 1963 Jim started working for The Ministry of Health ( KPH ) , later he became self-employed and established Quinte Manor Retirement Home until closing in 1999. He will be missed by many cousins Tom Donna Barbara, Shirley Lois Cheryl and Jimmy ( Belch) and families Son in-law to Melba Croft. Brother in-law to June ( David) Vera ( Steve) and Maureen. Many other family members and friends to many to name, nieces, nephews were dear to Jim's heart. Family and friends will be gathering for a graveside service at Belleville Cemetery Friday November 26, 2010 at 1:00pm with Pastor Trevor of Harvest Mission . To follow a celebration of Jim's life will be held at Hillcrest Community Centre.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Research or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the Family.
