Obituary for William E "Billy" Mackintosh

MACKINTOSH, William E. (Billy)

Born October 16th 1966, left us on December 16th , 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer and is now a beautiful angel in Heaven. By his side at St. Mary's of The Lake was his mom, Dot Davy, his sister , Kim Corcoran and Billy's stepfather , Bill Davy. He will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving partner of 23 years Don Barker and all of the Barker family.Don stayed by his side night and day when he was hospitilized at different times in the last year and a half. Words cannot explain the heartache and loss that is felt by his mother and best friend Dorothy Davy ( Dot), and his step-father Bill Davy. We were at Billy's side night and day for the last week at St. May's along with his sister ,Kim Corcoran .We do have wonderful and happy memories that will help us but life will not be the same without Billy in it.He is loved and will be missed by his father , Bill Mackintosh Sr. and Sylvia. He will be missed by his sister Kim Corcoran and her family who he loved dearly. He will be missed by his step-sister Michele Dawson and her family who loved him very much. He will be remembered and missed by all of his many friends who loved him and stood by him. He loved you all very much. Bill was born in Kingston and raised in Glenburnie where he attended Glenburnie School and then Lasalle Secondary School. He then went to St. Lawrence College and took a graphics course.Bill worked for Wallacks in Kingston for 21years and was manager for the last 12 years. He loved his job and those he worked with and the customers he met over the years. His plan was to return to work as soon as he could. He had been off work since June 2011. Bill loved Florida , especially the beach and a jug of beer on the pier with his family and friends. After spending 2 weeks each year for the past 16 years he planned on going in the spring for a month when he was well. He also went on 2 cruises and loved them, especially when he won a jackpot in the casino on one of the ships.
A Celebration of Life for friends and relatives will be held at 334 Queen Mary Road ( behind Beardall Animal Hospital ) from 2:00 pm-5:00pm on Saturday December 22, 2012.
The family of the late Bill Mackintosh Jr. would like at this time to give a special thank you to Debbie and Tracy Lees, Jennifer and Gord Holland and eveyone that worked and made the" Bowl For Bill" in October such a wonderful fund raising event for Bill.We want to thank all the people who donated items for the silent auction, all the people who bought items, all the people who bowled and all the people who gave donations to Bill. He was overwhelmed at the success and the turnout for this event and he wanted to be there to see everyone but was unable to attend.Thank you very much.
