Hawkes - Heather (Hedy) Margaret



Hedy passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, Ontario on October 15 2014


Hedy was born in 1925 in Bognor Regis, England and following several years of service in the WRNS towards the end of World War II she emigrated to Canada in 1954 on the Samaria-Cunard.


Her many interests led her to receive a BA Degree in Anthropology from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. She was a long standing volunteer with many organizations including the Canadian Legion (Stirling, ON), the Peterborough Centennial Museum and the Seed Sanctuary in Kingston to name a few.


She was the youngest of four siblings and was an aunt to numerous nephews and nieces located around the world.


Hedy's quick wit and eye for a bargain will be sadly miss by all of us.


A private family Ceremony will be held shortly.
